Loren Johnston- Loren wasChris's grandfather. Neither fit into society or had a jump for a long period of time. Chris left all of his jobs and Loren just couldn't keep them. Both attempted entrepreneurship but Loren always failed and Chris was always succesful with his. Both were prou and stubborn and they loved the wild, Chris loved the wild because it was a place where he could get away and Loren just loved the wild in general.
Tolstoy- Tolstoy was like Chris's father and Chris was easy to forgive him, but he never forgaqve his father. This is ironic because Chris said he hated his father for doing what he did but he doesn't hate Tolstoy which did almost the same thing as Chris's father.
